ZION IMPACT RADIO AFRICA

This project focused entirely on post-production for Zion Impact Radio, transforming a collection of externally provided footage into a cohesive and emotionally engaging music video. With no control over the filming process, the entire creative direction relied on editing decisions, rhythm, and the ability to shape a clear narrative from diverse visual materials.

Building rhythm and emotion beyond language.

One of the main challenges in this project was the language barrier, which made synchronization between video and audio significantly more complex. Without understanding the lyrics, the editing process depended on carefully analyzing the melodic flow, tempo, and emotional accents within the song. In addition, automatic synchronization tools were not reliable due to inconsistent on-camera audio, requiring all alignment to be done manually. This meant working frame by frame to match visuals with musical cues, especially when dealing with clips of varying lengths and no clear continuity. Beyond synchronization, the editing process focused on constructing a visually engaging story by combining interior footage from the radio space with additional clips featuring landscapes, people, and everyday life in Africa. These elements were intentionally interwoven to enhance the emotional depth of the project, reflecting the purpose of the song—one created to honor and appreciate those involved in building and supporting the radio. The pacing was designed to match the joyful and uplifting tone of the music, using dynamic cuts and fluid transitions to maintain energy throughout. Color correction and grading were applied to unify the different sources of footage, ensuring visual consistency and a polished final look.

PRECISION, RHYTHM, AND CREATIVE ADAPTABILITY
