This one goes back to the beginning. Before clients, before structure, before knowing exactly what I was doing—just a camera, a lot of curiosity, and a strong connection to the city I grew up in: Suceava.
I was around 18 or 19 at the time, filming alongside a friend who mostly helped me carry gear and kept me company, while I tried to figure things out on the go—shooting the city center in different moments of the day, climbing on top of a building to get higher perspectives (since drones weren’t really an option back then), experimenting with time-lapse, and learning by doing, without overthinking too much; everything was instinctive, sometimes improvised, but always driven by the simple idea of showing the city the way I saw it.
The video ended up being picked up by local press, shared around the city, and appreciated in a way I didn’t expect at that time, even leading to an interview that I’ll link here, and while looking back now I can clearly see how much has changed—both in terms of technique, editing, and technology—it remains an important milestone for me, a reminder of where it all started and how, over more than 12 years, I’ve grown alongside everything this field has become.
